When did South Dakota become a state?
South Dakota became a state in 1889. The United States Department of
Treasury will recognize all 50 states by producing a commemorative
quarter of each. The program started in 1999 and will continue
through 2008.

Originally, the show was designed for South Dakota 4th graders;
although, Dakota Pathways is enjoyed by people of all ages.
